This product is sooooooo bad and useless. The beads aren't the same in the picture, totally different shapes . Its glass but sooo bad kind not shiny and its look like cheap plastic. I regret buying it and dont advice any one to get it .

I expected to recieve a nice mix of beads, but they were all culls, broken, chipped beads for children if that. The picture did in no way resemble what I recieved. I am very shocked and insulted as a beader and designer. I cannot believe that a fellow jewelry designer would send to a potential customer, in fact I buy frequently from fire mountain gem and can't believe that I bought this from an amazon reseller whom I've done business with numerous time.

A very upset and discourged customer.

Please don't buy this product unless you want to throw your money away.

This is the first jewelry cleaner I've purchased (other than the usual solutions at the box stores). It arrived quickly and I put it to immediate use that evening. Thus far I'm pleased with it. I would definitely recommend one that allowed you the option of running it for longer periods of time as this one does. Several necklaces I have required the longest setting, several times - but they were very discolored. My collection mainly consists of costume/fashion jewelry and that has cleaned up very nicely. Cleans best when adding a drop of dish soap (I always use Dawn), its amazing when you look at the discolored water and see how dirty your jewelry really is!
Don't know yet about the lifespan of this unit - it isn't used everyday so I would expect it to last a while.
One consideration: it doesn't clean my diamond ring as well as I would have liked - it just doesn't sparkle as well as after the jeweler has it. But that's to be expected I guess. So far, I can recommend this unit for basic cleaning.

Impressive Cleaning with Useful Timer Settings, January 1, 2011

I'm extremely pleased with New Trent's CD-3800 Ultrasonic Cleaner. It's surprisingly powerful.
This cleaner has five pre-timed settings, which I have to admit are handy, but this ultrasonic's cleaning power is what has really impressed me and my family. We've used it for different things, but jewelry is where it really `shines' - pardon the pun! This ultrasonic removes hairspray, oils from lotion, fingerprints, etc., leaving our jewelry shining like new. Unlike a "sonic" cleaner, which uses vibrations only, we've trusted this ultrasonic on some of our more delicate items; a pair of antique eyeglasses (gently but thoroughly cleaned them), an antique magnifying glass with filigree and delicate handle (two cycles, one to clean the glass and filigree end, then turned the magnifier around to clean the handle with another cycle, leaving the lid open both times).

There are 5 automatic settings - push the Set button for the pre-timed setting you desire, press On and let the cleaner to do its job - a function that's both helpful and practical. Auto settings are displayed in seconds, but the minute times are 1 ½, 3, a little over 4 ½, a little over 6 minutes, and 8 minutes (we timed the settings, the cleaner ran accurately).

I've been using hot water with a good squirt of dish liquid, mixed well before using. Just pull out the plastic basket afterward and rinse everything under the tap (we do make sure the drain is closed). Always check with your jeweler or one of many online sites to see what stones/metals may be safely cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner.

Pros:
1) Very powerful cleaning ability yet quiet operation
2) Able to safely clean antique items (use the shortest cycle and check for any loose areas prior to cleaning), unlike `sonic only' cleaners which may damage items
3) 5 useful Auto Timed settings
4) Cleans glasses and even larger items when the lid is left open
5) Operating buttons located on the unit, not the lid - durable design
6) 6 month warranty

Cons:
1) Does not heat water, which would be useful

The New Trent CD-3800 is a well designed powerful ultrasonic cleaner with the extra feature of pre-timed settings - I'm impressed with this ultrasonic cleaner.

Bought this for my wife as a Christmas present, replacing a battery operated device that went bad. Turns out we both love this unit! Cleans rings to showroom quality, also tried it on a pair of glasses, first noting the built up gunk on the nose bridges before placing them in the unit. After a quick dip they were like brand new! I couldn't believe how thorough the cleaning is! I'm a tough person to please, but this device has exceeded my expectations. I especially like how you can use regular water, or even a bit of detergent of your choice, no mysterious cleaners to worry about.

Way, way to small I had thought that it was going to be the size of what the pic shows ~ NOT ~ was I ever wrong.. You can not read the reading on it its way to small.. If your looking for a gift for your wife keep looking your not going to want this..! Made very cheep and very poorly.. we all know the saying you get for what you pay for and for this item that is so very true its a rather low cost item there for its very poorly made..
