Jewelry Making Classes by The Makers Connection at JOGS
The Makers’ Connection is pleased to announce a collaborative effort with the JOGS Gem & Jewelry Show in Las Vegas, NV. As part of this collaboration, we will facilitate Student check-in at the JOGS registration desk for convenient pickup of your show pass/es. Early registrations before May 1, 2024, will include a complimentary pass to the JOGS show, while registrations made after this date will incur a fee of $10. Please note that guest passes will grant entry to the show but do not confer wholesale status

Swirly Pearl Earrings
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024, 1pm – 4pm
Instructor: Kieu Pham Gray
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Class Description: Learn how to shape and solder sterling silver to create a pair of elegant earrings. You will be challenged to solder a pin to securely set the pearl.
Intro to Wire weaving – Woven Pendant
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024, 10am-1pm
Instructor: Kaska Firor
Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: This class introduces the fundamentals of wire-weaving. Students will learn the most basic weave while creating several shapes that can be put together into a fun necklace. Skills learned in this class can be used to create bracelets, necklaces and bails for pendants. The focus of the class will be on learning the technique and improving the skill level. Students will learn the secrets for keeping their weaves even and consistent.
Teardrop Pendant
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024, 2pm-5pm

Skill Level: Confident Beginner
Class Description:Create this beautiful pendant using simple wire weaving and wire shaping techniques. Students will be given precise instruction on how to create the pendant from start to finish, but will also be encouraged to customize the finishing touches in order to create a one-of-a-kind design. The weave you learn in this class can be used for many different applications, from bezels for cabochons, to various bracelets to making earrings and rings.
Intro to Metal Clay
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024, 10am-1pm
Instructor: Sulie Girardi
Skill Level: Beginner
Class Description: If you have always been curious about this fascinating medium, this class is for you! Students will design a pair of fine silver dangle earrings or a pendant and learn metal clay tips, tricks and trouble-shooting. You will then learn to torch-fire your piece, so that you can continue your metal clay journey at home: no kiln required!
Fancy Marquise-Cut Ring
Date: Thursday, May 30, 2024, 2pm-5pm
Instructor: Sulie Girardi
Skill Level: All Levels
Class Description: In this class students will make a beautiful ring of their own design out of fine silver metal clay. The ring features a beautiful Marquise-cut fireable stone in your choice of color. The unique ring band is decorated all the way around with pretty decorations that are easy to make and apply. Ring making tips and tricks, including calculating shrinkage, will be discussed.
Floating Ring
Date: Friday, May 31, 2024, 10am-1pm

Class Description: Create a ring with a floating illusion. Full of texture and glitz, this ring will dazzle the eye.
